We have a variety of cocktail masterclass studios spread across the vibrant centre of the capital, whose abundant bars, restaurants, museums, landmarks and nightclubs make it an ideal location for before or after your class with us. Have a browse of some of our key central London locations below.

Soho: The famously bustling streets of Soho feature an eclectic mix of dining, nightlife, and shops, leaving you with absolutely no shortage of things to do and experience before or after your exclusive cocktail experience. The area also benefits from being one of the most accessible in London if you’re commuting in – with Euston Station, Marble Arch, and Waterloo stations mere minutes away.

Fitzrovia/Covent Garden: Our base in Fitzrovia is a great central location for us to host your cocktail making class. The West End is just a stone’s throw away, as is energetic Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus, meaning there is no shortage of things to do and places to explore before and after your exclusive cocktail experience. Guests commuting to and from London only have a short trip to Euston, King’s Cross St Pancras and Paddington.

Clerkenwell: Clerkenwell is one of the creative hubs of London, where new creative industries meet the old warehouses and Victorian boozers. It is perfectly located between the bustle of Central London and the quaint and sophisticated restaurants and cafes of Islington. It is a great location for those wanting to visit the relaxed venues of Exmouth Market before or after your cocktail class, or alternatively, stop by the iconic Barbican. Transport links include Farringdon, Chancery Lane, Angel, and the Barbican Underground Station.

London Bridge: London Bridge is located just south of the river from central London, with its main attractions being the Shard and Borough Market. It is a bustling area full of great restaurants and pubs to visit before and after your cocktail class. It is only a short walk to Southbank, where you can find the Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre as well. London Bridge Station is easily accessible from King’s Cross St Pancras and Liverpool Street via Bank.

The patchwork of leafy green suburbs, Victorian avenues, and bohemian urban sprawls of north London make for a diverse and picturesque backdrop for your cocktail making class with us.

Camden: Located in central north London, Camden is the famed epicentre of the Punk scene, with quirky markets selling everything from street food to handmade jewellery, this is for those who want a peek at London subculture before or after their cocktail class at our Camden base. A stones’ throw from King’s Cross St Pancras and Euston, book your class in Camden for easy access to Central London, or for the chance to visit the area’s many music venues, bars, or pubs after your class.

Islington: Nestled in between central London and the leafy suburban areas of Highgate & Stoke Newington, Islington is a great location for your upcoming cocktail class. Boasting streets of beautiful Georgian houses, a trendy high-end shopping district, award-winning comedy clubs, restaurants, and plenty of pubs, there’s more than enough to be getting on with in N1, whether it’s stopping off for street beers on the canal before your class, or getting stuck into a Michelin-star meal afterwards.

South of the Thames there is a veritable treasure trove of things to do and places to discover. Often seen as the lesser-known but much more picturesque cousin of the northern half of London, south London’s nightlife, food selection, and bar scene has come on leaps and bounds of the past few years to the extent that it can now rival anything you can find anywhere in London. Check out some of our cocktail making hubs below.

Waterloo: Just south of the river from Trafalgar Square and Somerset House is Waterloo, which is not only one of the main railway stations, but also leads you on to the bustling Southbank area. a bustling hub of pubs restaurants towards the Southbank end of the area. Southbank, which begins at Waterloo is home to riverfront pubs, cafes and restaurants, where you can take in the city skyline from across the river. This is the perfect central location for being well-linked to transport, as well as offering a range of bars and restaurants to enjoy before and after your class.

Clapham: Clapham is one of the most eclectic and lively areas south of the river, with the high street and Clapham Common offering a range of places for alfresco drinking and dining. Wander down the high street’s alleys, like Venn Street, for markets and outdoor seating. Book your cocktail masterclass here for easy transport links north of the river via the Northern Line, including King’s Cross, Euston, and London Bridge. On top of all this, it’s only a 10-minute bus ride from Brixton, making Clapham the perfect base from which to explore both sides of the capital.

East London is an area that is simply steeped in history, with the converted warehouses and wharfs dispersed throughout the area standing as brick-clad homages to the area’s colourful mercantile past. As well as being the area we proudly call home, it boasts one of the highest concentrations of bars in the world, a wide range of shops, restaurants, and an array of outdoor food markets, making east London one of the most rewarding places to visit for your cocktail making experience.

Shoreditch: The London hub of our cocktail classes, TT Liquor, is located in the vibrant area of Shoreditch, east London. Also the area where it all began for Mixology Events, Shoreditch boasts an array of pubs, bars, and award-winning restaurants to continue your evening after your cocktail class. Brick Lane and Dalston are also nearby, offering an abundance of things to do before and after your masterclass. Closer to home, there is an atmospheric cocktail bar – The Cellar Bar – located just beneath your feet below TT Liquor’s specialist liquor store, the shelves of which you’ll be free to browse at your leisure. Give us a call and we’ll be able to organise a table booking at TT or beyond.

Liverpool Street: Liverpool Street is one of the epicentres of London, as it is located between the business district and Shoreditch, the trendy nightlife hub. Not only is there direct access to one of the main railway stations, but the area is filled with great restaurants and bars, perfect for a stop off before and after your cocktail class. Explore the food stalls and markets of Spitalfields and Brick Lane, or have a drink in one of the bars, usually located either underground in a speakeasy-style basement, or nestled high atop nearby skyscrapers.

Dalston: Dalston is located just north of Shoreditch, and one is one of the liveliest and most exciting neighbourhoods in London. Bars and restaurants line Kingsland Road, the main artery that takes you from Stoke Newington into the heart of Shoreditch. Visit some of the most unique and quirky bars in London, or stop by somewhere for delicious cheap eats before or after your class. There are music venues for late-night dancing, and buses into Shoreditch if you fancy more variety. Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction are both Overground stations that easily connect you to Islington, and West London.

West London has developed a reputation over the years for indulgent shops, affluent suburbs, and boutique hotels. Whilst, of course, it boasts all these things in abundance, west London is a much, much more diverse and vibrant area than many give it credit for. Come pay one of our west London cocktail making studios a visit and see for yourself before, after, and even during

Notting Hill: Popularised to a global audience through the 1999 smash hit of the same name, Notting Hill is a picturesque and diverse neighbourhood located in west London, with a unique atmosphere. The location is perfect if you are travelling into London through Paddington, and if you are looking to experience the hustle and bustle of London without the tourist crowds. There are quirky shops and vintage markets, as well as a wide range of pubs and restaurants to visit before and after your cocktail class. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting on the last weekend of August, you could even lose yourself in the sights, smells, and sounds of the Notting Hill Carnival.

Chiswick: Chiswick is located West of Kensington and Hammersmith, and has a quaint village feel to it. Stroll along the river, visit the nearby Kew Gardens, or alternatively have a drink at one of Chiswick’s historic 18th-century pubs. You can also visit the Fuller’s Brewery, one of the oldest in the UK. This location is for those looking to hold their Cocktail class in a relaxed setting, amongst greenery and picturesque landscapes. • Highly recommended. I run corporate events for the business I work for and have used Mixology for their cocktail masterclasses twice. Each time is professional, charming and fun. Anyone looking to do something a little different with a client, this is a must.

  • Booked a Mixology masterclass as part of a surprise for my cousin’s hen do. To say everyone enjoyed it would be an understatement. It was absolutely brilliant! The two hours went far too quickly. We had a fabulous mixologist, Sean, who as well as teaching us how to make a selection of different cocktails, taught us a little about the history of cocktails too. It was very interesting, interactive and just so much fun!

  • Great event, organised for a Quarterly social in our office. Impressive setup for a large group of +30, with everyone getting involved making it a great evening. The cocktail makers were helpful and entertaining providing some really insightful knowledge and background to each cocktail. Would definitely recommend the night to a friend.

  • Probably the best cocktail class I’ve taken in the city. All other classes have involved a lot of watching and listening, whereas this class involved a lot more *doing* which, of course, equals a lot more *drinking*! It was great to make something different from the usual drinks you see on class lists, and spend more hands-on time making the cocktails yourself rather than watching others.

  • Attended mixology event as part of a larger corporate team building/information day. A fantastic way to bring the team together, have some fun and actually learn something. The host was amazing, with a great sense of humour, patience and lots of knowledge and history on the different cocktails, spirits. mixers and general history.

FAQ's

All your really need is an empty space for us to come and set up in, we can come to offices, houses, gardens, tents, rooftops…as long as we have the space and the access we can set up anywhere, you don’t need anything on your side at all.

We’d recommend you allow a space of about a meter and a half depth and a meter and a half-width for each bar, that allows enough space for the bars to be set up and for people to stand behind them. The bars are assembled on-site and pack down to be fairly compact so there’s no need to really worry about door-width.

Absolutely, we can do a class at any time of day, week or year, we just need enough time to set up all the bars beforehand and break them down again afterwards, this is usually between about an hour and two hours either side of the class depending on the size. We can be very flexible when coming to you.

We’re happy to work with most spaces but for instance, in an office, it wouldn’t work in a room full of desks. We also try and avoid using spaces with lots of columns or other obstacles that might block peoples view of the instructor. Anything on a slope wouldn’t be ideal either. We are based in London and are happy to come and do a site visit anywhere in the city if you’re unsure whether or not your space would be suitable

Generally, after a longer conversation with your event organiser about your event, you will need to put down a 30% deposit to confirm your booking and provide a home or company address to detail. This will all be sent over via email, along with the terms and conditions outlined. The final balance will be due a week before your class or event, generally once numbers are confirmed.

While food isn’t necessarily part of the package, it is certainly recommended. As you can imagine during two hours of making and drinking cocktails, it’s quite a good idea to line your stomachs. Even if the addition of food is a relatively last-minute decision, we will be able to cater to your needs if you get in touch with your event organiser a few hours beforehand.

The vouchers give you unparalleled flexibility when booking onto our public classes. Essentially, you don’t have to choose a specific date for your session – it’s an open voucher. We run our classes twice a week, generally – Friday from 7pm-9pm and Saturdays from 1pm-3pm. They work really well as a gift, for example, if you know someone who would love to come to one of our classes but you don’t know an exact date they’re perfect

RECIPE OF THE MONTH: SIDECAR

This French creation is a solid favourite among bartenders and serious drinkers, but the Sidecar is a drink that is a little overlooked by general punters. Perfect for the colder autumn months, learn to make this classic cocktail at home.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH: SMOKED NEGRONI

This twist on the classic Negroni, retains the characteristic herbaceous bitterness of the original, but adds an autumnal smoky element by replacing the gin with mezcal. Rich, complex, and very simple to make at home.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH: MAPLE LEAF

This simple, sour-style cocktail – one of our favourite house creations – combines caramel-y bourbon with maple syrup and tart lemon juice to create a mellow, moreish cocktail. Hit the link to make it at home.

EVENT ORGANISER

For our classes, we have a dedicated and personal team of event organisers based at our flagship venue in Shoreditch. The same event organiser will stay with you from planning and booking your event, on the day and post-event.

Your more than welcome to come down visit our unique, purpose-built class set-up to have a look around, meet your dedicated event organiser, and stick around for a well-deserved cocktail afterwards, or we can organise a site visit to your preferred venue.

YOUR HOSTS

Our entire team, from bartenders to our head office, have years of experience in the industry, and with Mixology Events. They each go through rigorous training to learn how to deliver the best cocktail making classes on the market.

Not only this, each and every one of them are enthusiastic, friendly, and – generally – pretty lovely human beings to have around. Don’t just take our word for it, why not meet them for yourselves?

PHONE, EMAIL OR ORGANISE A SITE VISIT!

We understand the importance of verbal communication, and we know that some questions simply can’t wait for an email response.

That’s why if you’re considering booking an event, we encourage you to give us a call, organise a site visit, or come visit our team. That way we can discuss your ideas, since every event is unique.

CUSTOMISATION

Depending on your location, there are a wide range of customisation options & potential class add-ons to choose from.

Whether it’s organising food accompaniments, adding in some professional cocktail kits, customising the class itself, booking meeting spaces to use alongside your class, or even having a few drinks before and after at our cocktail bar, just let your event organiser know and we’ll handle the rest.

Please click the relevant tab below for more details.

Presentations: Many of our London venues are well-equipped to host presentations before your class, with many of them fitted out with rooms of a variety of sizes, projectors, or Apple TVs. This also makes them well-suited for any film or video screenings you wanted to incorporate into your experience.

Meeting Rooms: Related to the above, a wide range of our London venues boast a range of rooms of different sizes available for short term rental. All are fitted out with WiFi, tables, chairs, and refreshments such as coffee and pastries, which makes them perfect spaces for short team meetings, award ceremonies, or conferences before your class.

Reception & Post Class Drinks: We’re truly lucky at Mixology to have so many unique and interesting venues to work out of, a few of which have cocktail bars on-site, or just a stones throw away. This makes them extremely well-placed for a couple of post-class drinks, or for a quick glass of wine or beer while you wait for your session to begin. If you’d like us to organise a table booking for you, let your event organiser know in advance and we can take it from there.

If you’d like a bite to eat, we have a wide variety of food options for before, after & even during your class.

Many of our locations across London include the possibility of adding on small platters, nibbles, and deli boards – available for pre-order – for guests to snack on during the class and help break up the alcohol! Also available for pre-order at select venues are a variety of freshly made hot small plates, which make perfect light dinners or slightly more substantial nibbles.

We also have long-standing relationships with a variety of pop-ups and up-and-coming chefs, so if you’d like to go that extra mile when organising your class let us know your preferences and we’ll see what we can do.

Finally, if you’d rather we give you a few recommendations about where to eat before or after your class, simply let one of our event organisers know in advance and they’ll happily list off a few spots – and even reserve a table for you – no problem.

There are a variety of options when it comes to customising your class add-ons, and the cocktail competition prizes received at the end of the session.

For example, you might want to offer our special cocktail kits as prizes for the competition winners in the masterclass. These are the professional-standard kits that the participants use during the class.

If you’ve got a generous streak and would like to purchase them for the whole group, we have discounts available for that.

Depending on your location, we are also able to source a wide variety of alcohol-related gift sets for you, or if you’d like to personalise the prize or have it as one big surprise that’s no problem at all. Just let us know, and we’ll keep it hush-hush for you.

Although we highly recommend our traditional class for its range, versatility, and skill level, we are able to tailor any aspect of this for our private classes to suit your preferences.

Given enough notice beforehand, we are able to switch out any of our classic cocktails for a list of your choice. We’re also able to tweak the number of cocktails in our line-up, or the alcohol content in each, to suit most occasions.

So whether the class is being organised for your best friend who can’t drink anything but gin, fancied organising a Tiki-themed cocktail class in your back garden, or just wanted to get a boozy history class by learning some all-time classics of the Prohibition era, let us know and we can make it happen.

If you’d like some inspiration to get you started, take a look at our online Menu Recommendations resource.

At Mixology Events, we pride ourselves on being as flexible as possible – and this certainly applies with regards to timings.

We’re fully flexible on what time you want your class to begin – whether you’d prefer it at the crack of dawn or the dead of night, we’re more than happy to accommodate.

On top of this, the duration of the classes themselves are adaptable. We can tailor the length to suit most briefs – whether you wanted a quick 15-minute rolling masterclass, a half-length mini masterclass, or a 3-hour cocktail making marathon, we are more than happy to accommodate.

PRIVATE CLASSES - Any Size, Any Time, Any Location, Any Day

We have been specialising in delivering top-quality cocktail classes for over a decade, and in that time we have continuously improved and fine-tuned our experience so we can proudly call ourselves the best on the market.

Many bars offer their own versions of cocktail masterclasses, but they are often not fit for purpose. It is cramped, not fully set up to allow all your guests to continually practice their cocktail making skills for the whole duration of the class, and you are often learning in front of a public audience in busier bars. Not Ideal.

WHERE?

We host the majority of our masterclasses at TT Liquor, where we have 4 dedicated masterclass lounges that are fully set up when you arrive – freeing you up to make cocktails continuously for 2 hours without waiting for anyone to set anything up for you.

We do that all before you arrive. The rooms come in a variety of sizes and cater for groups of 6 up to 80.

If you have a location in mind we also specialists in bring the complete set up with us. All the bars, with all the equipment, all the liquor, fresh products and ice. You simply let us know where you would like it to be and we set it all up in less than an hour and a half. We then offer the same experience you find at TT Liquor at any location you can think of.

EQUIPMENT & TUITION

Each bar also comes fully stocked, so that everyone on that bar (max 5 guests per bar) can make cocktails throughout their masterclass, with no interruption and no standing around watching. There are 3, 6, 8 and 16 bars set up in the 4 respective cocktail making lounges across our four-floor venue at TT Liquor and we have a total of 42 of these bars so we can perform a masterclass for up to 210 guests, all still receiving the same experience and all still making cocktails together!

We also provide you with your own professional bartender, who will be your dedicated host for the session. After putting together a reception cocktail for you and your guests, they will then guide you through 4 different cocktails, letting all your guests in on the various tricks of the trade to make your drinks taste better than ever. The perfect skills for your guests to take away with them to show off to their friends at their next garden party or barbecue.

Our expert bartenders are at the very top of their profession and are rigorously trained to deliver the best cocktail making experience possible for groups of up to 80. Their job is to be entertaining and engaging with all your guests, while simultaneously offering unparalleled insights on how to make your cocktails taste amazing. You may not get it right the first time around, but they will work attentively with each member of your group to hone their skills.

COMPETITION

To end the session with a bang, each bar will be set loose to create their own cocktail, testing out their new skills and competing head-to-head with the other bar teams. Your expert host will then have a taste of each creation and crown the winner. There is nothing quite like a bit of healthy competition and 5 cocktails each to bring a group together!

WHO?

Our cocktail classes have been enjoyed by budding mixologists from 18 years of age to 88, for a wide variety of occasions. Everything we do is geared towards making it an event to remember for you and your group.

WHEN?

We are lucky enough to be able to perform these classes 7 days a week and at any time of the day you wish. Due to this flexibility, we teach over 20,000 guests all the skills they’ll need to get mixing every year.

Yes, we do. We can send printer-friendly vouchers over to you via email so there’s no need for you to wait for the postman.

Why would I need a voucher?

The vouchers give you unparalleled flexibility when booking onto our public classes. Essentially, you don’t have to choose a specific date for your session – it’s an open voucher. We run our classes twice a week, generally – Friday from 7pm-9pm and Saturdays from 1pm-3pm. They work really well as a gift, for example, if you know someone who would love to come to one of our classes but you don’t know an exact date they’re perfect.

I have booked a date but can no longer make it, can I have a refund?

Our vouchers are non-refundable but we will be happy to reschedule you to a more suitable date.

I’m thinking of organising a mobile masterclass. What do I need?

All your really need is an empty space for us to come and set up in, we can come to offices, houses, gardens, tents, rooftops… as long as we have the space and the access we can set up anywhere, you don’t need anything on your side at all.

So how big are your portable bars?

We’d recommend you allow a space of about a meter and a half depth and a meter and a half-width for each bar. That allows enough space for the bars to be set up and for people to stand behind them. The bars are assembled on-site and pack down to be fairly compact so there’s no need to really worry about door-width.

What venues are not suitable for a mobile masterclass?

We’re happy to work with most spaces but for instance, in an office, it wouldn’t work in a room full of desks. We also try and avoid using spaces with lots of columns or other obstacles that might block people’s view of the instructor. Anything on a slope wouldn’t be ideal either. We are based in London and are happy to come and do a site visit anywhere in the city if you’re unsure whether or not your space would be suitable.

Am I able to hold a class at any time of day?

Absolutely, we can do a class at any time of day, week or year. We just need enough time to set up all the bars beforehand and break them down again afterwards. This is usually between about an hour and two hours either side of the class depending on the size. We can be very flexible when coming to you.

How long do you need to set up?

Depending on your group size we will need 1 ½ – 2 hours before and after your class to set up and break down.

Do we need to supply anything for the masterclass?

All we need is a clear space to set up. We will bring everything we need to host the class including, the bars, equipment, glassware, ingredients, ice etc.

Can we have the class in my garden?

Yes we have hosted classes outside before, just be aware we will need a flat ground to set up the bars properly.

How far can you travel?

We are based in London but can travel anywhere you need us. We have hosted cocktail masterclasses in Scotland all the way to Cornwall.

Is food included?

Not as standard, no. However, we are able to add food to most events at most venues. At our flagship venue in Shoreditch, we have permanent cooking facilities meaning we can do hot or cold food. Dependent upon the facilities at our other venues, we are able to offer this as well. We’ll always be able to offer cold plates and deli boards.

Would you recommend food?

While food isn’t necessarily part of the package, it is certainly recommended. As you can imagine during two hours of making and drinking cocktails, it’s quite a good idea to line your stomachs. Even if the addition of food is a relatively last-minute decision, we will be able to cater to your needs if you get in touch with your event organiser at least 24 hours beforehand.

Do you serve hot food?

Yes, we can cater your class with hot bowl food at select venues. Please get in touch with your event organiser to double-check that yours is suitable, and for current menus.

When will the food be served?

We usually serve bar snacks and deli boards at the beginning of your class with your welcome cocktail and hot bowl food halfway through the class during a natural break.

Do you serve vegetarian/ vegan food?

Yes we can offer vegetarian or vegan options, please ask your event organiser for details about our full range.

Is there a dress code?

No, there’s no dress code per se. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in, bearing in mind you will be on your feet for around two hours. If you’re coming in fancy dress, please ensure that you highlight this to your event organiser beforehand. Nothing too crude or crass, but generally you’re in a private room so you can come pretty much as you wish.

What is the disabled access like?

We’re afraid our disabled access at our flagship Shoreditch venue is very limited at the moment. However, we do have a variety of other venues across London and the UK which have ample disabled access. Please highlight any disabilities in your party with your event organiser beforehand, and we’ll happily advise on a suitable venue.

If I’m deaf, will I be able to attend a class?

Yes of course. We have catered for deaf classes before, generally the clients will have organised an interpreter. Again, let your event organiser know beforehand and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

What happens if there’s a change in my group size?

This will be shared when you make your booking, but we’ll need your confirmed numbers 7 days before the class is scheduled. This ideally will be conducted via email with your event organiser, who will send you your final invoice. If there are any changes less than 7 days before your class, it is unlikely that we will be able to amend the final invoice, so please keep in touch with your event organiser.

How are bookings confirmed?

Generally, after a conversation with your event organiser about your event, you will need to put down a 30% deposit to confirm your booking and provide a home or company address to detail. This will all be sent over via email, along with the terms and conditions outlined. The final balance will be due a week before your class or event, generally once numbers are confirmed.

I need to cancel my event, can I have my deposit refunded?

Once we have sent you the deposit invoice your event has been confirmed, therefore if you wish to cancel your event you must do this by email so we have written proof and you must do this at least 14 days prior to your event date to be eligible for a refund of your deposit. If you have booked your event with less than 7 days lead time, a cancellation must be received within 24 hours of your invoice being sent to avoid liability of payment.

When do I need to pay the final balance?

The balance of your event must be paid 7 days before your event, if payment has not been made someone from our accounts team will contact you to make payment over the phone.

Are dogs allowed?

No, unfortunately not in the classrooms.

Are under 18s allowed?

No, due to our licence under 18s will not be able to attend your class in any capacity at any venue – non-alcoholic cocktails or not.

CASE STUDY – PRIVATE CLASS

We took our mobile cocktail making class up to Hertfordshire for a hen party – we hosted the class outside in the sunshine!

The hens had rented a beautiful large house near Welwyn for the day, and the weather was absolutely perfect for al fresco cocktail making.

Our mobile classes can be taken almost anywhere – and we’ve done a number of events outside now, all of which have been great successes. It’s a great way to take advantage of the British summertime – check out the event we did for Procter & Gamble last summer.

Cocktail classes are also perfect hen party material – after 6 cocktails everyone seems to be in a good mood and up for a party!

We can host our cocktail classes at our new permanent home, TT Liquor, on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch or we can take them with us to almost any external venue of your choice throughout London or the UK.

CASE STUDY – CORPORATE CLASS

Mixology Events hosted one of our masterclasses on the 53rd floor of The Shard, located at London Bridge, central London. The cocktail making class was for 40 people and took place soon after The Shard opened in February 2013.

The security at The Shard was appropriately tight, which we took into consideration when organising the logistics of the class – we made a location visit in advance which helped to ensure there were no difficulties in keeping to schedule.

We provided 8 cocktail bars, fitting 5 guests per cocktail bar station – allowing each guest their own workspace to maximise interaction and involvement throughout the class.

The Shard is a great venue to host our classes, providing unparalleled views and providing insights into such a significant building.
