How to make ...

Tequila Colada

This drink is a great cocktail for long-time tequila fans as well as those a little more wary of the agave-based spirit. The moreish, fruity flavour and long, refreshing serve of this drink make it a great way to introduce those less familiar with tequila to the many wonders of this delectable spirit. However, the spirit-forward flavour compared to a classic pina colada makes this a great cocktail for more seasoned tequila drinkers as well.

History

Inspired by the classic holiday cocktail, the Pina Colada, this tequila twist is a little drier and a little more boozy but still boasts all the coconut-pineapple deliciousness of the original.
Our tequila spin on the classic rum-pineapple-coconut blend utilises Cazcabel’s coconut flavoured tequila with a boost of blanco tequila, pineapple juice and aromatic bitters to create a long fruity cocktail that is a tad lighter than the Pina Colada and packs a bit more of an alcoholic punch.

Howdy, folks. Sasa here from TT Liquor. Today we’re going to do a twist on a very delicious classic, a Pina Colada. But this time we’re using tequila. And not just any tequila. It’s Cazcabel coconut tequila, which is going to give it a nice, smooth, kind of rounded flavour and just give you those tropical vibes. So I hope you enjoy it. Over to you, Kay.

Ey up, it’s Kay back here at TT Liquor. Today I’m going to be showing you how to make a riff on one of my favourite classic cocktails, which is a Pina Colada. This is going to be a tequila colada.

So, first thing going in there is going to be our booze. And I’ve got two kinds of tequila going into this. Both made by Cazcabel. I’m gonna start with this lovely coconut flavoured tequila. And I want one shot or 25ml of my coconut tequila. Next thing going in here, it’s just going to be some classic blanco tequila and again, I’m going to do one shot of 25ml of this. And we want quite alot of pineapple juice, we want 60ml or just over two shots of our pineapple juice.

I’m going to do about three small dashes of bitters.

Now I’m just going to go ahead and fill that with ice and give it a shake. Pop my tin on, give that a nice shake for around about 10 to 15 seconds.

We’ll just strain our tequila colada over that ice. And then to garnish that, I’ve just got some nice pineapple leaves and coconut flakes to kind of dust over the top.

And that is our Tequila Colada ready to drink.
