Whilst a Mint Julep with bourbon (or rye) is perhaps the most famous iteration of this cocktail, this Georgia Peach Julep is actually a lot closer to what Juleps may have looked like originally.

This sweet but sophisticated cocktail is a recent creation, courtesy of bartender, Tom Byrne, for the now sadly closed, Charlotte’s Bistro, in Chiswick.

This twist on the classic sidecar uses pear brandy in place of the usual cognac and pear liqueur in place of triple sec to make for a deliciously dry and crisp, sour-style cocktail.

This French creation is a solid favourite among bartenders and serious drinkers, but the Sidecar is a drink that is a little overlooked by general punters.

A French staple, the Classic Champagne Cocktail consists of a single demerara sugar cube, soaked in angostura bitters, submerged in a shot of cognac and topped with champagne.
