English Garden (Mocktail)
By Mixology Events
Muddled blackberries with a dash of lemon juice, topped with pressed apple juice and cranberry juice served in a rocks glass. The English Garden is a well balanced mixture of sweet and sour and a great example of a grown-up tasting mocktail.
Apple Juice, Cranberry Juice, Lemon Juice, Blackberries.
The balanced mixture of blackberries, lemon and dry cranberry juice makes for a refreshing mocktail that isn’t overpowered with sweet, sugar-heavy ingredients.
Blackberries are a great seasonal ingredient and are at their best towards the end of the summer. If you’re planning a summery event and want some other seasonal drinks to serve alongside it there are a bunch of great cocktails that make the most of British summer berries.
A classic choice to serve alongside the English Garden would be its boozy cousin the Bramble. This cocktail forgoes the cranberry juice for dry gin to create a similarly flavoured mixture of fruity and dry elements and another great summer classic.
Another drink that includes fresh summer berries is the Eclipse Cooler, this unusual combination of raspberry, cranberry and bourbon may not seem like the most natural pairing of flavours but makes for a surprisingly balanced and moreish summer drink.
For those planning a menu that includes more alcohol-free cocktails we have a range of options to suit non drinkers, many classic cocktails can be tweaked to leave out the alcohol or we can even use Seedlip which is a non-alcoholic spirit for those wanting something even closer in flavour to a liquor based drink.
If you’re planning on featuring an English Garden as part of your cocktail menu and want to know more about what drinks you could serve alongside it, be sure to speak to your event organiser about your options or check out some other alcohol free, summery and fruit based cocktails from our list.
