Bambini Bellini (Mocktail)
By Mixology Events
Peach puree with a squeeze of fresh lime, shaken with cranberry juice, served in a high-ball glass and topped with a splash of lemonade. This a great Bellini-style mocktail to cater for any non-drinkers at your bar hire.
Peach Puree, Cranberry Juice, Lime Juice, Lemonade.
The Bambini Bellini is part of our specially-tailored range of mocktails. For those hoping to include some non-alcoholic options when planning their mobile bar-hire a drink like this could be a great choice.
Combining peach puree, lime and cranberry with a splash of lemonade or soda, this champagne-style mocktail mirrors the classic Bellini in look and taste. The harmonious mixture of sharp lime, dry cranberry and sweet peach make for a balanced and sophisticated alcohol-free cocktail.
If you want to include the Bambini Bellini as an alcohol-free option on your menu and are looking for some cocktails to pair alongside it, you may want to consider a classic Bellini or a Kir Royale, both these cocktails combine champagne or prosecco with either peach puree or blackcurrant liqueur respectively. Sparkling wine cocktails look great alongside the Bambini Bellini and are perfect for those looking to bring a touch of glamour to their event.
If you’re looking for some cocktails that match the flavours of the Bambini Bellini; peach, cranberry and lime, then something like a Sex on the Beach or a Cosmopolitan could be a great addition to your menu. Both these classic cocktails include some of the flavours of the Bambini. Sex on the Beach is a long fruity cocktail, whilst the Cosmo is straight-up sour style drink.
If you’re hoping to plan a bar-hire that includes the Bambini Bellini and want to know more about what to serve with it, speak to your event organiser for more options or check out some other mocktails, fruity cocktails, and champagne style drinks from our list.
The original Bellini is made from white peach puree, mixed with Italian sparkling wine. The drink was created at Harry’s bar in Venice by Giuseppe Cipriani. Harry’s son, Arrigo, says his father was obsessed with peaches, which would have been abundant in Italy from June to September. The drink would have been a seasonal speciality at Harry’s. It wasn’t until an entrepreneurial French man developed a way of preserving peach puree that it became a year round favourite, eventually being available at Harry’s bar in New York.
Myths & Legends
Apparently the drink was named the Bellini because it reminded Giuseppe of the toga of a saint depicted in a painting by Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini.
The Italian location of Harry’s bar was declared a national landmark by the ministry for cultural affairs in 2001.
Referring to the classic Bellini, writer, Jeffrey Morgenthaler has this to say:
“There is no classic cocktail that takes advantage of fruit puree quite like the Bellini, a concoction of sparkling wine and white peach puree. The drink reflects the same philosophy that Italians have toward food: use only the best ingredients at their peak season, and don’t muck them up—let the ingredients speak for themselves.”
