Understated yet entirely memorable, TT Liquor’s subterranean Cellar Bar is an adaptable bar hire venue, suited to a wide variety of applications.

Located in the cellar of our specialist liquor store, these converted Victorian police cells feature atmospherically-lit alcoves, booths and tables, which can comfortably accommodate 80-100 people. It’s also composed of several spaces, naturally defined, meaning you can rent the bar as a whole, one half of it, or just a single vault or alcove.

Its versatility, deceptive size, and attractive aesthetic makes it the ideal venue for some drinks before or after your cocktail class with us in our Shoreditch location as well as photoshoots, private parties, presentations, team trainings, and bar takeovers.

mixology-masterclasses-in-london

TT Liquor’s specialist off-licence looking out onto Kingsland Road will be the very first thing you see as you enter the venue.

Its shelves are lined with an ever-rotating international selection of hard-to-find spirits, liqueurs, beer, & wine, so there’s plenty of opportunities to find that elusive bottle of whisky or wine you’ve been searching high and low for.

It’s also where you’ll be greeted by your host for the day, so we highly recommend you take the time to have a browse while you’re there.

TT Liquor’s labyrinth contains a fair few surprises, but none quite as good as their hidden 52-seat vintage theatre, tucked away behind their liquor store.

It’s considerable size, acoustics, and quiet location – set back away from the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch’s Kingsland Road – means it can be used for a wide variety of purposes. For example, as well as film screenings, it’s a great setting for business meetings, presentations, classes and workshops, and after-dinner speakers.

So, if you’d like to host a presentation before your class, or perhaps watch a film afterwards, let us know and we’ll be able to arrange something for you.

The rooms above TT Liquor are great versatile spaces, suitable not only for cocktail making classes but for meetings and presentations, too.

They all boast an abundance of natural light, Apple TV, and Sonos sound systems, with catering options such as coffee, small plates, and lunch available on request. All rooms are available by the day or for short-term rental.

So, if you were looking to work a meeting into a full day of team-building, either before or after your class, let your event organiser know and they’ll be able to sort that for you.

Adding to the already diverse range of spaces on Kingsland Road, and featuring panoramic views overlooking the City, this south-facing terrace situated right at the heart of Shoreditch is the jewel in TT Liquor’s crown.

With exclusive-hire-only access for those not part of TT’s membership scheme, this versatile open space ranges over 1000 square metres and has a capacity for approximately 80 guests, making it an ideal option for a pre-class drinks reception for large groups, or for carrying on the night afterwards.

As well as this, the roof terrace is a perfect spot for anything from alfresco pop-up dining and picturesque business meetings, or just a quiet spot to enjoy a couple of post-class drinks. Enquire with TT Liquor about becoming a member.

VIEW TESTIMONIALS

Is there somewhere I can go to drink after my class?

Yes, we have a cocktail bar situated in the cellar of our flagship location on Kingsland Road. We’ll do our best to be able to book you a table. For larger groups especially, booking a table is highly recommended. Enquire after this with your event organiser during the booking process and they’ll be able to sort that for you no problem.

Where do you recommend we go to eat before or after our class?

Shoreditch is packed with great places to eat, and you won’t need to spend an arm and a leg. A few we recommend are: Dishoom, Pizza East, Blues Kitchen, Princess of Shoreditch, 100 Hoxton, Tramshed.

Are under 18s allowed?

No, due to TT Liquor’s licence, under 18s will not be able to attend your class in any capacity – non-alcoholic cocktails or not.

What happens if there’s a change in my group size?

This will be shared when you make your booking, but we’ll need your confirmed numbers 7 days before the class is scheduled. This ideally will be conducted via email with your event organiser, who will send you your final invoice. If there are any changes less than 7 days before your class, it is unlikely that we will be able to amend the final invoice, so please keep in touch with your event organiser.

What sort of information do I need to give?

We know it can be very tricky organising a number of people in a group – some you may know really well, others you may not know at all. Just let your event organiser know ahead of time how many people are firmly coming, how many are non-drinkers, any dietary requirements, and any access requirements. You will generally be in a private space, so if you wanted to dress the room or have your own music playing, this can generally be accommodated for if you were to give us enough notice.

What is the disabled access like?

We’re afraid disabled access at TT Liquor is very limited at the moment, and there are therefore many stairs to navigate. However, we do have a variety of partner venues within 10 minutes away, which do have ample disabled access. Please highlight any disabilities in your party with your event organiser beforehand and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

How are bookings confirmed?

Generally, after a longer conversation with your event organiser about your event, you will need to put down a 30% deposit to confirm your booking and provide a home or company address to detail. This will all be sent over via email, along with the terms and conditions outlined. The final balance will be due a week before your class or event, generally once numbers are confirmed.

Meet The Team.

PHONE, EMAIL OR ORGANISE A SITE VISIT!

We understand the importance of verbal communication, and we know that some questions simply can’t wait for an email response.

That’s why if you’re considering booking an event, we encourage you to give us a call, organise a site visit, come visit our team at our Shoreditch venue, and even try out a drink in the Cellar Bar afterwards. That way we can discuss your ideas, since every event is unique.

Our flagship venue is located in the vibrant area of Shoreditch, east London, which boasts an array of pubs, bars, and award-winning restaurants to continue your evening after your cocktail class.

Brick Lane and Dalston are also nearby, offering an abundance of things to do before and after your masterclass.

Closer to home, there is an atmospheric cocktail bar – The Cellar Bar – located just beneath your feet underneath TT Liquor’s specialist liquor store, the shelves of which you’ll be free to browse at your leisure. Give us a call and we’ll be able to organise a table booking at TT or beyond.

Our Shoreditch HQ is a unique venue, purpose-built for our range of interactive cocktail making classes, which makes it the only one of its kind.

Set over four diverse floors, the building is packed with permanent masterclass lounges, all of which come fully-equipped and ready to go. The studios are all of varying sizes, too, which means we can work with you to recommend the perfect space for your party – whether you are a small and intimate group or a larger class utilising all the space the venue has to offer.

As well as this, our dedicated events team are also based in our permanent offices on the top floor of the building, meaning they are never too far away to be of assistance. They will always be on hand to showcase our studios, explain the class format, or discuss taking our 100% interactive classes to any of our venues across London and the UK.

The Cellar Bar – Located a mere two flights of stairs down from our cocktail making lounges, the Cellar Bar is an atmospheric subterranean cocktail bar tucked away beneath TT Liquor’s specialist liquor store. Pull up a stool at the bar, or take a seat in one of their underground vaults – ex-police holding cells from the Victorian era – and sample their eclectic, seasonal cocktail list.

Happiness Forgets – Walk 5 minutes from the doors of the liquor store towards Old Street and you’ll stumble across Happiness Forgets. It’s a small and perfectly formed basement bar in Shoreditch, on Hoxton Square. Found at the bottom of a discreet stairwell, it is the ideal place to enjoy an intimate atmosphere and a well-crafted cocktail or two. It is perfect for pre-drinks in Shoreditch or if you want a cool but not too hectic night, and is great for a date too.

DreamBags JaguarShoes – Launched in 2001 and located a literal stones’ throw away from our Shoreditch studios, DreamBags JaguarShoes is one of the grand old nightlife institutions of Kingsland Road. The unusual name derives from the 1980’s bag and shoe wholesalers that once occupied their building, whose signage still adorns the shop front. Stop by for some of the best atmospheres in east London, served alongside speciality beers, wines & spirits, or just spend the night working your way through their mezcal-heavy cocktail list.

Close to Home – The ‘Pho Mile’: Our Shoreditch location is ideally placed on Kingsland Road, a mere stones’ throw away from the iconic ‘Pho Mile’ Vietnamese district. A couple of stand-outs include Tay-Do Cafe, which is great for larger groups (bookings encouraged) and great authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The soft shell crab in tamarind sauce is an absolute must-try. Another gem on the fabled stretch is Sen Viet, whose menu is almost entirely meat-free, and has a cosy atmosphere well suited for smaller groups. Their steamed spring rolls are guaranteed to last long in the memory. All of these restaurants listed above operate a ‘Bring Your Own Booze’ (BYOB) policy. We are able to curate a wine pairing list for most cuisines, so simply let us know in advance, listing some of your tastes, if you wish us to put a little BYOB hamper together for you to take up the road with you.

Pizza Pilgrims Shoreditch (£) – Just outside the orbit of the Old Street roundabout lies a true gem of a pizzeria, with prices that make it perfect for large groups not looking to spend an arm and a leg. Inside, the decor features the brand’s signature New York-Italian touches, with green checked tablecloths and white walls. The Neapolitan-style pizzas speak for themselves – fluffy dough, top-quality ingredients, and unparalleled tomato sauce makes for a winning combination. Our personal favourites are the spicy ‘Nduja’, and the earthy Portobello Mushroom & Truffle varieties. Wash them both down with an ice-cold draft beer, or a tall glass of Italian wine.

Dishoom Shoreditch (££) – Located a mere 5-10 minute walk away from our Shoreditch base is one of the most versatile eateries in east London. Decorated to resemble a Bombay cafe during the 1930s, complete with Persian influences, Dishoom Shoreditch plies its trade serving out authentic Bombay cuisine with a fun modern twist. Their breakfasts, in particular, are out of this world, and you haven’t truly lived unless you’ve tried one of their now-famous bacon naan rolls. The lunches and dinner aren’t bad either, nor is their drinks menu – which features a wide-ranging and eclectic selection of non-alcoholic (as well as alcoholic) drinks. All of this makes Dishoom one of the best places to drop into to prepare for your class beforehand, or continue your night afterwards.

The Clove Club (£££) – For those looking for a dining experience with a more upmarket vibe, The Clove Club is up there as a destination of choice. Located just around the corner from our Shoreditch studios, this cutting edge fine dining establishment has earned itself acclaim from critics and laypeople alike by serving out innovative takes on British classics using often-overlooked ingredients. Their wine list, meanwhile, showcases regions from the old and new world, encompassing traditional and modern styles of winemaking, with a focus on artisanal growers. Pairing suggestions are also available. If you don’t mind spending a fair bit on your bite to eat, or you’re celebrating a special occasion, then you could do far worse than here. Bear in mind, dinnertime bookings are notoriously hard to get hold of so we strongly advise you book in advance. Let your event organiser know in advance, and we can sort this for you no problem.

PRIVATE CLASSES – Any Size, Any Time, Any Location, Any Day

We have been specialising in delivering top-quality cocktail classes for over a decade, and in that time we have continuously improved and fine-tuned our experience so we can proudly call ourselves the best on the market.

Many bars offer their own versions of cocktail masterclasses, but they are often not fit for purpose. It is cramped, not fully set up to allow all your guests to continually practice their cocktail making skills for the whole duration of the class, and you are often learning in front of a public audience in busier bars. Not Ideal.

WHERE?

We host the majority of our masterclasses at TT Liquor, where we have 4 dedicated masterclass lounges that are fully set up when you arrive – freeing you up to make cocktails continuously for 2 hours without waiting for anyone to set anything up for you.

We do that all before you arrive. The rooms come in a variety of sizes and cater for groups of 6 up to 80.

If you have a location in mind we also specialists in bring the complete set up with us. All the bars, with all the equipment, all the liquor, fresh products and ice. You simply let us know where you would like it to be and we set it all up in less than an hour and a half. We then offer the same experience you find at TT Liquor at any location you can think of.

EQUIPMENT & TUITION

Each bar also comes fully stocked, so that everyone on that bar (max 5 guests per bar) can make cocktails throughout their masterclass, with no interruption and no standing around watching. There are 3, 6, 8 and 16 bars set up in the 4 respective cocktail making lounges across our four-floor venue at TT Liquor and we have a total of 42 of these bars so we can perform a masterclass for up to 210 guests, all still receiving the same experience and all still making cocktails together!

We also provide you with your own professional bartender, who will be your dedicated host for the session. After putting together a reception cocktail for you and your guests, they will then guide you through 4 different cocktails, letting all your guests in on the various tricks of the trade to make your drinks taste better than ever. The perfect skills for your guests to take away with them to show off to their friends at their next garden party or barbecue.

Our expert bartenders are at the very top of their profession and are rigorously trained to deliver the best cocktail making experience possible for groups of up to 80. Their job is to be entertaining and engaging with all your guests, while simultaneously offering unparalleled insights on how to make your cocktails taste amazing. You may not get it right the first time around, but they will work attentively with each member of your group to hone their skills.

COMPETITION

To end the session with a bang, each bar will be set loose to create their own cocktail, testing out their new skills and competing head-to-head with the other bar teams. Your expert host will then have a taste of each creation and crown the winner. There is nothing quite like a bit of healthy competition and 5 cocktails each to bring a group together!

WHO?

Our cocktail making classes have been enjoyed by budding mixologists from 18 years of age to 88, for a wide variety of occasions. Everything we do is geared towards making it an event to remember for you and your group.

WHEN?

We are lucky enough to be able to perform these classes 7 days a week and at any time of the day you wish. Due to this flexibility, we teach over 20,000 guests all the skills they’ll need to get mixing every year.
