Public Masterclasses

Public Cocktail Making Classes Shoreditch

Our public cocktail making classes generally host around 20 guests and are ideal for individuals or small group bookings. Our classes are 100% interactive, meaning that everyone has their own area on a cocktail bar station to work on, as well as all of the fresh ingredients and equipment required.

These classes run two times a week and are held in the purpose-built cocktail making studios on the second & third floors of our Shoreditch home. Our masterclass sessions are also available as gifts, which can be purchased over the phone or from our online shop. Please see the form and check our calendar for availability and bookings.

Absolutely brilliant time making cocktails. Kay was an excellent tutor and explained the history and the methodology of the drinks we were making. It was fun and interactive and an excellent day out. Highly recommended.

TT Liquor store entrance

TT Liquor, our Shoreditch HQ, is a unique venue, purpose-built for our range of interactive cocktail making classes, which makes it the only one of its kind.

Set over four diverse floors, the building is packed with permanent masterclass lounges, all of which come fully equipped and ready to go. The studios are all of varying sizes, too, which means we can work with you to recommend the perfect space for your party – whether you are a small and intimate group or a larger class utilising all the space the venue has to offer.

As well as this, our dedicated events team are also based in our permanent offices on the top floor of the building, meaning they are never too far away to be of assistance. They will always be on hand to showcase our studios, explain the class format, or discuss taking our 100% interactive classes to any of our venues across London and the UK.

TT Liquor - Mixology Flagship venue in Shoreditch

Our flagship venue is located on the Shoreditch end of Kingsland Road, near Jaguar Shoes, just past the bridge.

The nearest train stations are Hoxton Overground, Old Street, Liverpool Street, and Shoreditch High Street – all of which are a short stroll away. We also have a wide range of bus options a mere stone’s throw from our front door.

Subterranean Cocktail bar area

Tucked away underneath our liquor store is our atmospheric cocktail bar, the Cellar Bar. Featuring low-hanging beams, a range of seating arrangements, and ex-Victorian police cells which we’ve converted into tasting vaults, the Cellar Bar enjoys a bustling trade with a number of locals and regulars sampling our seasonally-rotating cocktail list.

Regular live acts, as well as resident DJs, take care of the soulful soundtrack. Why not take advantage and head down for a nightcap after your class?

Liquor store full of bottles in wooden shelves.

The face of the business, and the first sight to meet customers upon walking through our doors, is our specialist liquor store. Its hand-crafted wooden shelves are packed with a hand-picked and ever-rotating selection of rare bottles, customer favourites, and a wide range of produce from some of our favourite local independent producers. Have a browse before or after your class and see if there’s anything that takes your fancy.

London roof terrace from above

Perched atop the building is the latest addition to the TT Liquor panoply – our urban private members’ roof terrace. Featuring panoramic views of the city, a seasonal cocktail menu, freshly-made pizza, and Prosecco on tap, this space can cater for groups of up to 80 and has already successfully played host to a range of branded and private events. Why not book it out for a few pre-or-post-class cocktails?

TT Liquor’s labyrinth contains a fair few surprises, but none quite as good as the hidden 52-seat vintage theatre tucked away behind its liquor store.

Its considerable size, acoustics, and quiet location – set back away from the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch’s Kingsland Road – means it can be used for a wide variety of purposes. For example, as well as film screenings, it’s a great setting for business meetings, presentations, classes and workshops, and after-dinner speakers. So, if you’d like to host a presentation before your class, or perhaps watch a film afterwards, let us know and we’ll be able to arrange something for you.

Variety & Quality of Ingredients

We offer a rotating cast of five seasonal cocktails during each of our classes – four class drinks and a competition cocktail at the end. Make five cocktails

We teach you how to make (and drink) five cocktails behind your very own bar station. Our seasonally-rotating cocktail menus have a little something in there for everyone. We also offer non-alcoholic and vegan-friendly options for each drink, meaning nobody gets left out.

One of five cocktails on a bar top

Such a fun and wonderful experience! I expected to go in, make a couple of small cocktails in a large group but every time we each got a cocktail to ourselves and Kay was there to help us. Would recommend anyone thinking of booking to go for it, it was a lovely evening.

Non-Alcoholic & Vegan Options

We believe our non-alcoholic options are as strong as our alcoholic ones, and we take care to use the best quality ingredients on the market to make non-drinkers’ experience with us as seamless and enlightening as possible. We also have a range of vegan options available, and can easily cater to a wide range of allergies and dietary requirements. Nobody gets left out.

Cocktail Making Competition

Who doesn’t like a bit of healthy competition? We like to end every single one of our classes – whether private or public – with a cocktail making competition, judged by your learned tutor, whereby guests compete against each other to produce their very own cocktail creation using their newfound skills, and the premium equipment and ingredients available to them.

We find that this is a great way to showcase your creativity and character, and works fantastically for networking and teambuilding. Bonus points for the best names!

Stock Up At Our Store

There are a variety of options when it comes to topping up on your class experience available in our specialist liquor store, from special professional cocktail kits to help you brush up on your skills from home, rare and exclusive bottles to gift or sip on, group memberships, and much more. Simply ask one of our friendly staff in the shop and they’ll be more than happy to help you organise something special.

Team

We have a dedicated and personal team of event organisers based at our flagship venue in Shoreditch.

They’ll be more than happy to help you out with any queries or questions you had about gifts, the class structure, the building itself, or even the best bottle to get your father in law.

Our entire team, from your hosts to our head office, have years of experience in the industry, and with Mixology Events. They each go through rigorous training to learn how to deliver the best events on the market.

We’re more than just bartenders

Our hosts are of course experts in their field, but they’re also pretty damn nice people to have around. They’re good sorts and will make it their mission to ensure everyone is comfortable and catered for. You don’t need to just take our word for it, either…

Male mixologist host at the front of a cocktail making class

Thank you so much to Mixology Events for putting on a fantastic cocktail class for our team Winter Party. Thank you especially to Aicha, who was our instructor for the class. Aicha was incredibly professional and helpful, and she was especially amazing at making the class fun, entertaining and memorable.

FAQ's

Because this allows unparalleled flexibility when booking onto our public classes. Essentially, you don’t have to choose a specific date for your session. We run our classes twice a week, generally – Friday from 7pm-9pm and Saturdays from 1pm-3pm. They work really well as a gift, for example, if you know someone who would love to come to one of our classes but you don’t know an exact date they’re perfect.

Our classes are non-refundable but we will be happy to reschedule you to a more suitable date.

Yes, we do. We can send a printer-friendly gift certificate over to you via email so there’s no need for you to wait for the postman.

Not as standard for our public classes, no. However, we are able to add on food to most private events. Our on-site kitchen means Neapolitan pizzas, courtesy of Good Fired Pizza, can be made on-site and served during your event. We also have a range of charcuterie boards available thanks to Cobble Lane Cured. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available upon request.

We’re afraid our disabled access on Kingsland Road is very limited at the moment. However, we do have a variety of partner venues within 5 minutes away, which have ample disabled access. Please highlight any disabilities in your party with your event organiser beforehand and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

We switch up our masterclass menu every few months so people can come back and enjoy the experience again with new seasonally-inspired drinks.

Our cocktail masterclass lasts 2 hours and includes a welcome drink, making and drinking 4 cocktails each and a team competition cocktail at the end.

Yes, we host our public classes every Friday at 7pm – 9pm and Saturday 1pm – 3pm, which are perfect for couples and small groups of around 4-5.

This can vary depending on the day, but usually, on one of our public classes, you will be joining a group of between 15 – 20 people.

  • We came to the cocktail making class as a work social. Firstly, the drinks we were making were all delicious and proper boozy. Secondly, the room and the whole building are absolutely stunning and such a lovely setting to be in. Most importantly, our mixologist, Marcus, was an absolute gem. His instructions were very clear and his trivia unmatched. He had unwavering patience despite how rowdy some of us got towards the end and such positive energy.

Highly highly recommend and will definitely be back soon!
